The Art Lounge is in a Grand Georgian country property, fortunate to command a wonderful position overlooking the village of Branthwaite and beyond to the Western fells of the Lake District.
Gerry and Eileen Watson acquired the property at the end of 2016 after a long search for the perfect place to run a fine quality Boutique accommodation within easy reach of the Lake District and the fabulous West Cumbria Coast. They found Scenery Hill house, which as the name suggests, has fabulous views. Located on the fringe of the English Lakes National Park (a UNESCO world Heritage site), ideally situated near the Western Lakes of Ennerdale, Buttermere and only four miles to Loweswater, or the Solway coast. Originally built by a local papermill owner in 1793 and in need of extensive restoration they took on the arduous task to bring it back to its former glory.
